Shannon Souray is a Metis artist from Fishing Lake Metis Settlement in Alberta who started learning to bead as a little girl while she would sit with her grandma while she sewed moccasins.
Shannon grew up with a talented family, most of which are musicians and that was Shannon’s first love. Beading has helped her get back to her roots and calm her wandering soul.
Shannon currently teaches at University Blue Quills in St. Paul, Alberta and enjoys everything that has to do with Indigenous Education.
