Heather Bouchier Design
Heather Bouchier is a clothing & jewelry designer from Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation in Saskatchewan based in Edmonton, AB. She studied at Academy of Fashion Design in Saskatoon, SK with a Certificate of Sewing & Design and a Diploma of Fashion Design.
Heather utilizes many Upcycled materials, Indigenous made fabrics and turns them into modern clothing. She has shown her collections all over North America and was recently an artist in residence at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity with focus on Indigenous Haute Couture. Heather owns her home based business and is the Fashion Director for Heart of the City Festival (Edmonton).
Her jewelry is a blend of Cree culture, pop culture and wearable art. She uses beadwork, dentalium shells, hide and horsehair in her work.
