Born in Montréal, Quebec, I entered the foster care system at three months old and was later adopted by a non-Indigenous family in Saint-Lazare. Growing up in a largely non-BIPOC community, I struggled with identity until 2016, when my time at Dawson College’s Indigenous Peoples Center helped me begin reconnecting with my roots—and sparked my passion for beading.

As a French and Inuk woman from Kangiqsujuaq, Quebec (born Putulik Pilurtuut), I often felt disconnected from both my culture and myself. Beading, however, became a way home—a practice that grounded me in acceptance, pride, and healing.

With encouragement from a friend, Little Inuk Beadwork began as an online diary of growth and reconnection. Six years later, it has become a small business I could never have imagined, filled with meaningful experiences and opportunities.

I still have much to learn, but I carry the belief that practice makes progress. I am grateful for the chance to share pieces of myself through my work, and for the joy it brings to others and to me.
