Created by the Indigenous Student Entrepreneurs that make up the Almighty Voice Education Centre Business Club of One Arrow First Nation in North Central Saskatchewan.
In 2019, the students began their venture with the intention of creating a business that would help save our environment. They began making one of a kind art works using recycled cabinet doors. They customized their own works using various colours of paints and symbols. At the direction of their advisor Joe Taylor, the students were encouraged to use their own creativity to put their mark on the products they intended to sell.
The students are learning about recycling, reusing and reinventing to create sustainable product lines that can be enjoyed by everyone while supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship.
When the pandemic closed their school in 2020, the students were faced with a choice to wait it out or move forward. With the school closure for 18 months, the students used the time to modify their production and selling processes to work within the community's public health measures. They are now retailing their pieces with Indigenous Box amongst a handful of other Indigenous owned enterprises in Saskatchewan. The have most recently been featured on the inaugural APTN TV series, Bears Lair and competed in the Pow Wow Pitch 2021 and 2022.
